What: A collaborative way to use the board that allows everyone to participate.

How: You can write themes, questions, prompts, quotes, or ideas around the room and then have students silently walk around and respond to the ideas. You can have just one, or you can have many at the same time. Encourage students to respond to each other and engage in a discussion, just without talking. After students are done responding and seeing other students responses, you can have a debrief session that might include some of the guidelines from discussion facilitation.

Why: This allows for a lot of ideas at once students can revisit their own ideas, respond easily to other ideas, and you as the professor will be able to see what all the students are thinking, and how they are understanding particular topics.
