What: An iteration of a small group discussion, but students are assigned to be 'eperts' on particular topics.

How: You divide the class into small groups, where each group is working on a different question or a different topic. Then you rearrange the groups so that there is one ‘expert’ for each topic in the new groups. You might find it helpful to assign these 'expert' groups before class so students can prepare for class with a certain lens and then actually be able to be experts during the class.

Why: This allows for a quick cross-pollination of ideas and expertise. Students have a chance to work in small groups, but with multiple different people in a short span of time, so they get to hear from a lot of different perspectives.
